I’ve got a plugin that uses the Theme extension point to define a pair of colors (fg and bg) for a decoration. But whenever I apply that color, not only does my decoration change color, so does the label being decorated. Specifically, within a treeViewer, I’m trying to add a count of elements in each folder to the folder’s name, but I’d like to color that decoration the same way some Team elements do within the package navigator.

How on earth are they doing that? I’ve tried to make sense of the SVN codebase to try to suss this out myself and I keep ending up with the whole label being colored. Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch for posting the “Themes HOWTO” but boy would I love to see a howto covering the “Presentation API“. It’s rather “undocumented” and it sure would be nice to have a short howto.

Currently I have found the examples in CVS plus the presentation from EclipseCon’05 plus the eclipse-skins project on Sourceforge - but none on Eclipse.org.

So could you please (pretty please with sugar on top) ask the right people and see if they can’t shed some light on the Presentation API?
