So, the Canadian iPhone price plans have been announced. I’m not surprised in the slightest that Rogers once again decided to fleece their customers - 450MB cap? No unlimited plans? Three year contract?
Behold the power of the monopoly, folks. Sigh. Unfortunately, it’s JUST within the realm of tolerable for me. I need to find a way to talk myself out of it.

I don’t think the 400MB is much of a problem. You can’t tether the iPhone to your laptop and all streaming/VOIP applications are banned anyway. I use my Nokia N95 8GB for web/Google Maps/podcasts and I rarely exceed 400MB a month.
If I ever moved to Canada, the rest of the deal would be way too painful for me to stomach though. $7 a month for “service access”? $15 just to get Caller ID? Plus tax on top? What the hell? Not to mention the 3 year contract. I guess that’s not too different from any contract in Canada though. I did note that evenings start at 9pm with the iPhone, which I guess is pretty crappy even for Canada.
Just think though - if you get an iPhone, you can ditch that collectors’ item of a Nokia I gave you.
