		<description>As I understand it, if you fly into the US from Canada and they ask to seize your laptop, you can politely refuse and walk away, as you still are in Canada.

The brutal issue is if you fly from outside North America to the US and land inside the US. Then you are in the US but not admitted to the US, and hence can't realistically refuse anything.</description>
