Yellow Gladiolus
This is based on a photo I found on Flickr. I love the photo, but it doesn’t translate well into painting at all. It’s very hard to see what exactly it is that you’re looking at. You may have some idea it’s a flower, but that’s about it.
I should note that this photo was heavily modified. I had to skew it quite a bit to correct for the bad angle I shot it at. At close examination you’ll probably see some pixelation in the upper corners.
